Synopsis

Réponse Campagne de publicité

Carathéodory reports again on a supposed press campaign against members of the Ottoman cabinet. He finds no indications of such campaign, nor of its being in the make. In fact he Belgian press is generally favorable toward the Ottomans, a result of the Legation’s good relationships with the local press. There is some negative reporting in international newspapers, but these are rarely picked up by dailies in Brussels. Only one Belgian paper has a permanent correspondent in Istanbul, who gives very positive reports compared to those of other foreign correspondents.
