Letters from the Imperial Legation in Brussels (1849–1914)
Synopsis
Assim Pacha sends a report of the Ottoman legation to Washington concerning Dr. Edward Nathan Gantz (Rodanon) and his affiliations with the organization for regicide together with an article from the “Herald” of 03-09-1881. Assim Pacha asks if he could appeal to other sources concerning the case.

Dans un récent rapport, la Légation Impériale à Washington revient, à propos d’un certain Dr. Gantz, sur l’existence à Bruxelles d’une association de régicides. Vous trouverez sous ce pli copie de ce rapport, ainsi que la coupure y annexée du « Herald » du 3 Septembre. Malgré le résultat négatif des démarches précédentes de la Légation Impériale, résultat dont Et[ienne] Caratheodory Effendi me faisait part dans son rapport du 14 Juin dernier, N° 2261/57, je crois devoir vous recommander de réitérer vos démarches ou de recourir à d’autres sources
d’informations dans le but d’arriver à connaître la vérité. Recevez etc.
Monsieur le Ministre, Me référant à mon rapport du 26 avril dernier, N° 3667/1965, j’ai l’honneur de soumettre à Votre
Excellence une coupure du « Herald » du 3 Septembre d’où il résulte que le Dr. Gantz se trouve en Hollande en ce moment. Il prétend, ainsi que Votre Excellence le constatera, que sa visite au Pays-Bas est tout à fait inoffensive. Je n’oublie cependant pas la lettre qu’il a reçue, au sujet d’une
association de régicides établie à Bruxelles, et j’inclinerais à croire que la présence du Dr. Gantz ou Noradoff dans le voisinage de la Belgique, ne serait pas complètement étrangère à cette sinistre combinaison. Daignez agréer, Monsieur le Ministre, l’hom-
mage de mon profond respect.
