Congé de Mr. de Burlet; le Général Brassine Ministre des Affaires Etrangères ad interim.
Belgian Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs De Burlet was on sick leave. Minister of War, General Brassine became Minister for Foreign Affairs ad interim. De Burlet’s family was optimistic and expected a quick recovery. De Burlet’s colleagues, however, were not so optimistic and seriously considered the options in case De Burlet had to be replaced. This would cause difficulties, as the Catholic Party was divided.
