Synopsis

Changement du Ministre d'Autriche Hongrie à Bruxelles.

Etienne Carathéodory Effendi reports that Count Chotek, minister plenipotentiary of Austria-Hungary in Brussels, asked to be transferred from Brussels to Dresden, because of family affairs. Count Chotek would be replaced as the dean / senior of the diplomatic corps in Belgium by the Dutch minister in Brussels, Baron de Gerieke. This made Carathéodory vice-dean. However, the nuncio was still the official dean of honour, because of his rank / position. Carathéodory expresses the regrets of the Ottoman legation in Belgium, and calls Count Chotek not only his colleague, but also his friend. In accordance with Carathéodory’s expectations, Count Khevenhüller was appointed the new Austrian-Hungarian minister in Brussels.
