Synopsis

Le nouveau Cabinet libéral

After the liberals won the elections of June 11th, the liberal leader Walthère Frère-Orban was assigned to form the new government. The Belgian Official Journal (Moniteur Belge) published the Royal Order about it. Alexandre Carathéodory Effendi summarizes the new ministers: Prime Minister Frère-Orban was also Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jules Bara was Minister of Justice, Gustave Rolin-Jaequemyns was Minister of the Interior, Pierre Van Humbeeck was Minister of Public Education, Charles Graux was Minister of Finance, Lieutenant-General Renard (aide-de camp of Leopold II) was Minister of War, and Charles-Xavier Sainctelette was Minister of Public Works. Carathéodory only elaborates on the biographies and personalities of Frère-Orban and Bara, the two most remarkable new ministers.
