Elections sénatoriales du 8 juillet.
Etienne Carathéodory Effendi reports that the Belgian senatorial elections of July 8th decided in favour of the Catholics. Unlike the elections of June, however, it was not a complete victory for them, as Brussels seemed to have become more liberal. According to Carathéodory, this would not pose a problem to the Malou government, as Malou was a moderate man who would be able to keep the ultramontanist tendencies of some of his colleagues in check.
