Synopsis

Mission de courtoisie hollandaise.

As soon as he heard the news about the birth of Archduchess Elisabeth Marie of Austria, King William III of the Netherlands sent one of his most eminent generals to Belgium, to convey his congratulations to Leopold II of Belgium, to give proof of the cordial relations between Belgium and the Netherlands. Leopold II seemed very touched by the amiability of his neighbouring sovereigns. As soon as Queen Marie-Henriette would return from the Laxenburg Castle in Austria-Hungary, Leopold II and Marie-Henriette would visit the Dutch King and Queen.
