Vote des nouveaux impôts.
Etienne Carathéodory Effendi informs Aarifi Pacha on the taxes that were voted for in the Belgian House of Representatives. The new resources, created by these new taxes, were less than the government hoped to create in order to cover the state’s deficit. Carathéodory notes that this deficit was not a chronic disease for Belgium, for he estimates the new resources to be sufficient for covering the deficit. In his opinion, the Frère-Orban government had every right to be satisfied with the results of its campaign. Minister of Finance, Charles Graux would keep his position, although it had been endangered at one point.
