Synopsis

Procès Peltzer-Verdict. - une annexe dans bande séparée.

Etienne Carathéodory Effendi informs Aarifi Pacha about a trial in front of the Belgian Assize Court. The jury unanimously found the Peltzer brothers guilty of murder. They would be sentenced to death. The victim and persons involved were highly placed men of importance. Even the Peltzer brothers themselves were highly educated members of the high society. They had committed the crime with premeditation and prepared the murder with caution. Carathéodory enclosed a copy of the indictment, as it contained a dramatic story. The case received international attention and the judicial sentence was communicated internationally. Carathéodory links this trial to Belgium’s political situation, and quotes part of a newspaper article from L’Echo du Parlement. (The enclosed indictment is not photographed.)
