Synopsis

Changements diplomatiques

As a result of some incidents that harmed the Italian government, it was no longer possible to keep Baron Baude as ambassador of France at the Vatican. Etienne Carathéodory Effendi does not describe nor judge the incidents. He reports that the French minister in Brussels, Marquis de Gabiac, would replace Baron Baude at the Vatican. Count Duchatel, minister in Copenhagen would replace Marquis de Gabiac in Brussels. Carathéodory notes that the Ottoman legation in Brussels regrets that Marquis de Gabiac had to leave Brussels, as they had always been on good terms.
