Synopsis

Monsieur John Lemoinne nommé Ministre de France à Bruxelles.

In his report, Etienne Carathéodory Effendi informs Sawas Pacha about the replacement of Count Duchâtel by John Lemoinne as the French minister in Brussels. The Belgian liberal government, as well as the liberal press were pleased with this replacement. The Catholics were consternated by this choice, as Lemoinne had proved himself to be an anticlerical.
