Changement de Ministère en Belgique
The Belgian Liberal Party lost the elections. As a consequence, Frère-Orban’s liberal government resigned. The seats in parliament were almost equally divided by Catholic and liberal MPs. According to Glavany, there would only be one solution to the problem of forming a new government: the more reformist / christen-democratic leaders of the Catholic Party should accept power and propose an electoral reform project, to which a liberal fraction could comply. This project should be examined, after which the people should be consulted about the dissolution of the parliament and the provincial and communal assemblies. Glavany remarks that the people almost could not believe that the Catholics had won the elections.
